LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson Explain That Andy Reid Doesn't Talk To Rookies And They Have To Earn It
This is a wild clip. I want to say I don't believe it, but its coming from two of the best Eagles in the last decade or so. I kind of like it, but it's also kinda dumb having a first round draft pick being like why is coach not talking to me? I respect this move though because he has a lot to worry about. I think it is the teams job to welcome in these guys however they want you need to prove something to Andy Reid to even be talked to.
Listen there is no way if a rookie has a problem and wants to talk to Andy Reid he isn't going to talk to them. I think it is a good tactic though as well for these rookies to play harder, make the team better, and make an impact in the game. Once you do that you get coach talking to you and you know he is happy with your play. You have to earn that privilege though (shout out $20 Chef). I think in today's age we give out too many participation trophies and everyone is looking for an atta boy. Yes it is nice to get a good job from your employer or coach, but growing up you just go about your business on your own and work on your craft. You'll get the recognition once you deserve it so just shut the fuck up. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
I think that this would be an awesome thing for Andy Reid to own up to as well. Like yeah I am Andy fuckin Reid I don't need to go out of my way to make sure the rookies are doing okay this isn't school this is football. I really do love that current and former pro athletes go on these podcasts and open up because it is awesome to learn the ins and puts of these people we watch for years and even how they run teams is awesome.
